Express Entry
Express Entry
It is an online system that is used to manage applications for permanent residence under Canadian Experience Class, Federal Skilled Worker Class, Federal Skill Trades Class and Provincial Nomination Class. Till now this is the most familiar and fastest program in Canada for immigration. It is a point-based program and has draws every 2 weeks. Candidates who qualify the requirement criteria are invited to apply for Permanent Residency under these programs.
Canadian Experience Class
If you have studied full time in Canada for two years resulting in a degree or diploma, and have worked for one full year after the degree, you can qualify for expedited permanent residence. The job must have been in the professional, technical or management areas. Individuals eligible to apply for permanent residence under the Canadian Experience Class are temporary foreign workers or foreign graduates working in Canada. Individuals are required to have general knowledge of English or French and qualifying work experience.
Under the CEC there is no minimum education requirement. However, if one holds a foreign education diploma, they may still wish to have their education assessed by an approved agency in order to be awarded points under the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS).
If a foreign national has obtained at minimum one year of Canadian full-time work experience, and they subsequently leave Canada, they may still qualify under the CEC. However, they must file their application within two years of having obtained the one year of Canadian full-time work experience.
Federal Skill Worker Class
The Federal Skilled Worker (FSW) program is one of the three programs contained within Canada’s Express Entry system for processing permanent residency applications. All programs within Express Entry are highly competitive, utilizing Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) to rank candidates.
The Federal Skilled Worker Visa is designed for individuals who have the qualifications, skills, or work experiences to contribute to the Canadian economy.
Applicants of the Federal Skilled Worker Program must demonstrate that they meet the minimum visa requirements. These include having work experience in a managerial, professional, or trade/technical occupation and meeting the pass mark on a points-based assessment. Successful applicants will obtain Canadian permanent residence, which allows them to live and work in Canada.
Federal Skill Trade Class
The government of Canada recognizes that communities and cities across the country experience labour shortages in many skilled trades occupations. Consequently, the Federal Skilled Trades Class (FSTC, formerly known as the Federal Skilled Trades Program) is the only federal economic immigration program that singles out workers in trades occupations.
You’ll likely have to go to the province or territory to be assessed for your trade. You may also need an employer in Canada to give you experience and training. To learn more about getting assessed, you should go to the website of the body that governs trades for the province/territory where you would like to live and work. The process is different, depending on where you want to go.
Provincial Nomination
Canada is the priority for many who think of immigration. Canada has 10 provinces and 3 territories in all and each of these have their own economical and geographical requirements. Under the provincial nomination program, Canada provides an opportunity to those who have the relevant skills, education, and required professional experience to contribute to the growth of the province.
If you show true intent in working for the province and making some contributions to the economic needs of the province then you can immigrate to Canada under the Provincial Nominee Program. This program is also launched under the Federal Government to invite skilled workers.
